Police closing in on car thieves

Nine police vehicles, marked and unmarked, descended on suburban Greymouth early this morning as police used search warrants at three separate properties. Senior sergeant Mark Kirkwood confirmed that inquiries relating to ongoing thefts from vehicles around Te Nikau Hospital resulted in three simultaneous search warrants in Shakespeare, Doyle and Chapel streets.
